Course Description

Level 2 Biology


This subject builds on Level 2 Biology knowledge. Students will develop an understanding of fundamental biological concepts including Homeostasis, Socio-scientific issues, Human Evolution, Plant and Animal Behaviour and  Applications of Biotechnology. This course is designed to prepare students for tertiary study in the Biological Sciences.

Socio-scientific issue report.
School practice exams.

Preparation for external exams.

Assessment Information

3 internal standards to give a maximum of 9 credits.
2 external standards to give a maximum of 9 credits. Human evolution is 4 credits and Plant and Animal Behaviour is 5 credits.
To obtain UE, 3 internals and the plant and animal standard must be passed in the external.
