This course builds on digital and multi-media skills and techniques that have been developed in Level 1 Art and Level 1 Digital Art. The focus is on Graphic Design, a process of visual communication and problem solving through the use of image, typography and other graphic elements. Students will develop skills in generating artwork through a range of processes and become proficient in digital image-making techniques using Adobe software. Illustration and animation options are also available to students.
Students will select their own theme to guide individual design scenarios and briefs. Students will also look to contemporary designers’ ideas to inspire their own artworks.
Assessment for the course is by portfolio. Students are recommended to choose a maximum of two portfolio subject in the same academic year.
EQUIPMENT/STATIONERY:
In addition to a laptop computer and some general stationery, specific items for each course will be confirmed at the beginning of each school year.
As an indication, for this course you are likely to need:
- 16GB USB Drive x2 (one to be kept at school for backup storage)
Note: It is highly recommended that students have access to a laptop/computer capable of running Adobe software for home use.
