Course Description

This course is specifically designed for English language learners who have not gained Level 1 literacy. Students work through two English standards which involved a study of verbal language, as well as a film study. Scaffolding based on students’ unique prior knowledge, home culture, and experiences is used to broaden skills in analysis and critical thinking. English language skills are also integrated into the course to support the on-going English language learning of students. Students will also sit the literacy co-requisite exams as part of this course.

In addition to a laptop computer and some general stationery, specific items for each course will be confirmed at the beginning of each school year.
