Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs L. Bailey.

In this course students will develop their keen interest in the media, from films to the internet, and its use to reflect and affect the social, political, historical and economic climate of the time in which they were made. Within this course we will look at the manipulation of the press, the influence of social media, how narrative techniques drive directorial decision making in films and how our heroes and villains reflect the socio-political concerns of the time. A large portion of this course is dedicated to practical film making where students are challenged to plan, design and produce a short film which requires a significant time commitment in Term 2.
