L2 Design and Technology
Course Description

Building on the foundation of the level one course and presenting a pathway to university the course increases the challenge of problem solving and design. Delivering three internal and one external assessment the course is structured to encourage critical thinking and problem solving resulting in the design and production of hard materials-based solutions. Students will identify their own design challenge. Research, design then construct new products from wood, metals, plastics, fabrics, electronics, in single materials or combinations of these. They will also have the opportunity to use a variety of Computer Aided Design and manufacturing systems.

EQUIPMENT/STATIONERY:
Confirmed stationary lists will be available at the beginning of the school year. It is unlikely that this course will require any items in addition to a laptop computer and some general stationery.

Assessment for the course is by portfolio. Students are recommended to choose a maximum of two portfolio subject in the same academic year.Credit Information (standards listed are indicative only and are subject to change)
